Working groups
The Coalition’s advocacy working group strives to ensure comprehensive representation and promote the rights of LGBT+ people in Eastern Europe on the international stage.
Advocacy
The Coalition’s advocacy Working Group prepares submissions, inputs, statements, and other contributions based on gathered evidence from the region to various international mechanisms, actors, and organizations. Additionally, the advocacy group compiles annual reports and briefs on the situation, regulations, and practices related to preventing hate crimes against LGBT+ people, anti-discrimination, legal gender recognition, and other relevant human rights issues in the region.

Capacity building
As the only Working Group that directly engages with these communities, the Capacity Building Working Group assesses their needs and enhances educational programs to foster stronger, more resilient communities. By working closely with the communities, it ensures that its initiatives are directly aligned with their specific needs. It conducts comprehensive needs assessments and tailors educational programs to address identified gaps. Through hands-on support and customized training, the group enhances the communities’ capacity to advocate for LGBT+ rights. Additionally, it continuously monitors progress and adapts strategies to ensure the sustained growth and resilience of these communities, ultimately strengthening the overall LGBT+ movement in Eastern Europe.

Developing routing and structures
The Developing Routing and Structures Working Group is crucial for establishing effective operational frameworks within the Eastern European Coalition for LGBT+ Equality. It focuses on creating and refining internal processes, governance structures, and communication pathways to enhance the Coalition’s efficiency and responsiveness. By standardizing procedures and ensuring clear communication channels, the Group helps streamline decision-making and coordination among member organizations. This working group also develops guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency and accountability in the Coalition’s operations.
